The [impresario](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impresario) [Augustus Harris](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augustus_Harris) hired him to appear alongside [Dan Leno](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Leno) and [Marie Lloyd](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_Lloyd) at the [Theatre Royal, Drury Lane](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theatre_Royal,_Drury_Lane), in its spectacular Christmas pantomimes *Humpty Dumpty* in 1891, *Little Bo Peep* in 1892 and * :)
